Now that I have a couple of issues of Liminal under my belt, I’ve taken a step back to decide how to really ride this bicycle.
The biggest decision I’ve made is to go completely digital. No more paper contracts. No more snail mail. Huge thanks to Submishmash for making this possible.
The other decision I’ve made is to rewrite the content of the website. Not only to update the guidelines to reflect the paperless process, but to streamline things. Make it clear what I’m looking for. What I’m not. Who should submit. Who shouldn’t. Stuff like that.
During the time it took to make these decisions, a lot of submissions have come in. Which is awesome. This means I’m actively reading for the next two issues. If you want to send something in to be considered for publication, now is the time to do it!
If you’re waiting to hear if your work has been accepted or not, your wait is almost over. Thank you for your patience.
Stay tuned for news of Issue #3 and updates to the site.
And as always, thank you for reading!
Happy New Year! Did you enjoy your holidays? We did. A little too much, maybe. We thought we heard Santa’s sleigh whoosh by, only to realize it was really our publication deadline.
So now we’re eyeing January 12 (next Wednesday!) for our unveiling of Issue #2. It will be chock so full of poetry, fiction and artwork, it will rival the stash you got in your Christmas stocking.
So munch on some leftover candy canes and stay tuned. We’re wrapping up some logistics and legalities and then Issue #2 will be good to go!
(Oh, and also, submissions are open for Issue #3. Send us your best!)
The first issue of Liminal is officially up and available to read!
Issue 1, Sept. 2010
Thank you to all of our talented contributors. It’s been a privilege to work with you and provide a forum for your work.
We’re currently accepting submissions for our second issue. Be bold. Be brave. Send us your best!
Tell your friends and family.
Liminal’s inaugural issue will be launched, right here, on September 1!
We are pleased to announce we’re now using Submishmash as our online submissions manager. Please see our Submissions page for more information.
If you’ve already submitted work to us via email, don’t worry. Your work is safe and sound and being reviewed. No need to resubmit with the new manager. However, if you’re about to submit work to us, please use the online form. This will make the submission and review process easier for everyone.
Hooray for Submishmash!
We’re reading submissions for the first issue, and really excited about what we’re seeing! Thank you to everyone who has submitted work so far. You rock!
Right now, we’re hoping to publish the first issue in July. But we need more submissions to make it a proper inaugural issue. Especially in the area of artwork. Please help us out by spreading the word about Liminal to all your friends. Thanks!
